infrastructure and urban development in emerging markets. It excels
particularly in issues related to private sector participation in the major
energy and infrastructure sectors, financing of such projects, urban and
municipal development policy and financing.
Infrastructure Development
Its principals have conceived, led and managed World Bank and Asian Development Bank strategy, policy and lending programs for infrastructure development in Asia, Europe, the Mediterranean, Sub-Sahara Africa and the Middle East. They have also advised a number of major international companies interested in investing in emerging markets.
Between them, they have direct understanding of infrastructure needs, host country policies and institutions in over 30 countries, including: China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Vietnam in Asia; the Baltic Republics, Bosnia, Hungary, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, and Russia, in Europe; Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, and the Balkans in the Mediterranean; Egypt and Jordan in the Middle East; Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa in Sub-Sahara Africa; and Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Uruguay in Latin America.
The Group's principals have been directly involved in, and were responsible for infrastructure development strategy and policies at the regional, national and sector levels (including in power, gas and oil, transport, water supply and sanitation, municipal and urban infrastructure).
One of the principals led the World Bank initiative in the mid-1990s to promote private sector participation in infrastructure in Asia.
