Ranjit Ajit Singh is a Partner/Director of Centennial Group International and the Head of the Global Markets Practice. Over the past two decades he has played a major role in international securities regulation and has chaired and participated in a variety of global regulatory task forces and committees including those associated with post crisis reform and cross border regulation. He was the Vice Chairman of the Board of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) from 2013-2018 and the longest serving Chairman of IOSCO’s largest committee, the Growth and Emerging Markets Committee and represented the Committee on the Financial Stability Board. Ranjit was also Chair of the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) which has driven regional integration and market connectivity initiatives in ASEAN.

Ranjit served as Executive Chairman of the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) from 2012 to 2018 and was the Managing Director prior to his appointment as Chairman with 25 years overall experience in securities regulation and capital market development. He was instrumental in the introduction of major regulatory and market development initiatives and multi year regulatory reform programs for strengthening the competitive positioning and effectiveness of the capital market.

Ranjit holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours), Masters of Economics (Finance) and Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) degrees from Monash University Australia. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia. He taught finance at The University of Melbourne and has worked in academia, accounting, consulting, and regulation in Australia and Malaysia.

Ranjit is also currently a market expert for the International Monetary Fund, serves on the capital market advisory boards of several countries, is a member of the Leadership Council of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (M), a member of the advisory board of the Salzburg Global Finance Forum and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors (M).
