Our clients include multilateral and bilateral financial institutions such as
the World Bank, the IMF, the Asian Development Bank, Japan Bank for
International Cooperation, USAID, and USTDA, as well as private business corporations.
They are located all over the world, including: New York, Washington, D.C.,
McLean (Virginia), Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Geneva, St. Gallen, Singapore, Tokyo,
Rome, and Zurich.
The group helped the World Bank and the IMF to prepare a handbook on Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) as an authoritative source of tools, analytical technologies, and assessment methodologies and procedures of the FSAP process. The Group helped the World Bank formulate future financial sector policies for China, Korea, and Indonesia to implement the next round of reforms and sector restructuring. We have helped the Bank set up infrastructure development programs in Sri Lanka and the Southern Africa region, as well as formulating urban development programs in the Philippines and Indonesia and reform of urban finance institutions in India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Earlier, it assisted the Bank and IMF in assessing financial sector vulnerabilities in Hungary and Korea.
The Group assessed the financial sector vulnerabilities and priorities of restructuring in India, Nepal, and Vietnam. The project was conducted on behalf of the Asian Development Bank. Assistance was provided for ADB's support for private infrastructure development in India. We also developed ADB's Transport Sector Strategy and in the implementation of its Private Sector Development Strategy. At the same time, we reviewed the impact of financial sector policies and programs on poverty alleviation in India. Recently, we completed a review of global experience with Pension Program for the Informal Sector. A major ADB-supported project is underway to develop the global standards and and regulatory framework for Islamic banking.
Examples of work carried out for the bilateral institutions include development of performance monitoring indicators for JBIC, a review of worldwide financial sector operations of USAID within the framework of the recent evolution in the global financial architecture. As well as two studies of JBIC's procurement policies and procedures.
Meantime, the Group is assisting a number of private companies enhance their presence in the emerging economies and forge strategic alliances. For example, it is advising a major European firm on designing a new business strategy for Asia given the new economic and political environment. This work includes resolution of complex problems of major concern to the board of directors. Similarly, it has assisted a US-based information technology firm develop and implement a new business strategy and plan. The Group has also been engaged by private groups in the US and Asia to help put together and raise money for private equity funds.
